Got home from my road trip I mentioned in the caption of my most recent Flickr photo. I got home a few days ago, moved to Oakland, and now I’m starting my first day of work tomorrow. I’ll be working at an engineering firm in Canonsburg called CDMG.
The trip ended up being 6700 miles, 136 hours, 18 days, 18 rolls of film. We camped for about 1 week. We spent the most time in southern Utah. It will take me about 2 months to get all the film scanned and put up on Flickr.

I guess the entirely random suggestion of a scorpion with “Payback Is A Bitch” below it is now our visual identifier. I’ll get one this week. But I think mine will be wearing a sombrero and waving a flag with the pax cultura symbol on it.
“A dude said, “I’d like a Self Defense tattoo, what do you suggest?”
We haven’t had a consistent logo or anything of that sort so I said, “a scorpion with ‘Payback is a Bitch’ beneath it.” I was mostly joking, because it’s the tattoo I’ve been talking about getting for years but didn’t think I was a hard enough gangster to pull it off.
This dude went out and did it and, apparently, is a hard enough gangster. I quite like it. I like that he brought his personal experience fighting in World War I into the design. “
